  11. Having problems with new USR Sportster 28.8 external modem and Win95.
  12. Replaced an old 2400 modem . . . operating on COM 2, IRQ 3.  USR is
  13. supposed to be PlugnPlay but is not recognized by Win95, so I chose it
  14. from the list and is apparently installed okay, BUT logs on
  15. momentarily then in the middle of downloading a Web page will FREEZE
  16. the whole system.  CTRL-ALT-DELETE won't do anything, needs to be
  17. rebooted.  I thought this might be an indication that the IRQ could be
  18. wrong, BUT it works on a 2400 connection with AOL (please, no lamer
  19. comments; this is for a friends system).  I've tried to change the I/O
  20. address but Win95 won't let me.  I've experimented with turning the
  21. FIFO off--no help.  The DIP switches are set with 1,3, 5, 8 in the
  22. down position.
